In this program, I will guide you on your path to making complex material clear and compelling in your presentations and move your audience to lasting interest and action.
You will learn how to properly focus your presentation, how to assemble your content and how to capture your audience's attention from the first moment.
We'll work through making your content engaging by using narrative elements without sacrificing scientific integrity, by ensuring your slides are easy to understand and by making them dynamic and bringing them to life.

Throughout the program, we'll work with your presentation problems and not only work on improving your presentation writing skills, but also your delivery. There'll be enough time to coach you for any current presentation you may have to hold - in fact, we will use a current presentation project of yours, if applicable, to work through the concepts of this program.

I am Oliver Hauss, PhD
My motto is "There's no such thing as a dry topic!" As a chemist and molecular biologist, I have excited nonacademically trained medical technologists for diagnostic statistics and commercially trained managers for medical scientific details of their products.
I have organized and presented at corporate and satellite symposia from the local to the global level.
In addition, I have been invited to speak at the 2019 Women Economic Forum in London, at the 2021 Global Commercial and Sales Force Excellence Summit (GCSFE, online) and the 2022 spring GCSFE in Berlin and won the audience vote for the best pitch at the TEDx Heidelberg Pitch Night 2019.
My goal is now to enable you to present your research or medical value in as exciting a fashion without compromising on scientific integrity!

My guest in this interview, Stephen Kosslyn is a psychologist and neuroscientist best known for his work on visual cognition and the science of learning.
He was departmental chair and Dean of Social Science at Harvard and director of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
Stephen has written books and scientific studies on effective presentation design, including "Clear and to the Point: 8 Psychological Principles for Compelling PowerPoint Presentations" (Oxford University Press) and "PowerPoint Presentation flaws and failures: a psychological analysis" (Kosslyn et al. 2012 Front. Psychology 3:230 doi: 10.3389/fpsyg.2012.00230)

Most other presentation experts do not have a biomedical background and struggle to understand how to simplify medical and scientific data without risking going beyond what's scientifically legitimate - a significant danger both due to regulations and due to academic standards and expectations.
Are you a graphics designer?
No, but while I cannot do designer "wizardry" with your slides, I can teach you evidence-based principles that will both help you signiciantly improve your slides if you do not have the budget for a designer but also make things easier for any designer you ask to further improve your slides later on. My help, however, is not purely on the design but the whole presentation, concept, visuals and delivery!
